LIVING ETNOBIOLOGY IN AMAZONIA:

August 2 to 5, 2018
We will be in Abaetetuba, more specifically in the community of Sirituba, located in various Islands. We will be a community of activities from August 2 to 5 (including relocation, meals, accommodation and translation).
Or the purpose of this experience will be to meet residents of Sirituba Island, who work in different environments and manage different natural resources. Predominant activities are fishing, extractor of assai, fruits and Palmas (Maurithia flexuosa) and fibers for making traps to catch shrimp.
We will be doing field activities for ethnobiological research, so there will be lectures, field visits, and experiences exchanges between the participants and the community.
We want to provide inscribed moments of practice and reflection with debates about the activities carried out in their relations with the ethnobiological situation 30 years after the Declaration of Belém. we invite students and professed interested dynamics of field combined with conversations and lectures.

During the walks is recommended the use of closed shoe, preferably boots the tennis shoes;
Bringing a hat;
On hiking wear long trousers, if possible knit pants or leg pants; Take sunscreen;
Do not throw garbage along the way;
Do not carry sound equipment or listen to music on portable devices, therefore, the sound of nature should be contemplated;
It is not allowed to carry alcohol because it will be sold separately outside the package in community establishments.
